Week 5 Pickup Recommendations –

QB Carson Wentz PHI (BYE) Week 4 Recommendation Repost: Wentz has won us over, his pose in the pocket is outstanding, and his ability to throw on the run is unique for a rookie QB. He’s been able to utilize all of the tools around him, and isn’t pigeonholed to one or two targets. Will face the Lions pass defense, which hasn’t been very good this season (favorable 7.8 out of 10). Fantasy Potential: C+/B-

QB Paxton Lynch (14/24 170 yards 1 TD 0 INT) Lynch stepped in for an injured Trevor Siemian and the highly touted rookie looked performed like a solid QB2. Two QB leagues should keep an eye on the Siemian injury as Lynch has a wealth of talent around him to make him a viable fantasy QB. Fantasy Potential: Speculation pick/Stash

RB Kenneth Dixon BAL (Injured)/ RB Terrence West Week 3,4 Recommendation As we’ve discussed the last few week’s Justin Forsett was not getting it done, and Dixon may be ready for week 5. This week we saw Terrence West rumble for 113 yards with a TD and thus he should also be consideration as a pickup this week. West however is not the complete package, as he’s not a backfield receiver while Dixon is. Although Dixon is going to be the long term solution here, he may not be fully healthy upon return, which likely means a time share early on…and that could linger. Dixon Fantasy Potential when healthy: B-

RB DeAndre Washington OAK (5/30 yards rush 3/16 rec) DeAndre Washington was one of the rookie RBs that we touted this preseason. The Raiders are increasingly growing dissatisfied with Latavious Murray, and Washington has the burst to breakout of the pack. A transition in this backfield could happen before mid season if Murray does not step it up soon. Fantasy Potential: Speculation pick/Stash

RB Wendall Smallwood (Week 3 – 17/79 4.6 YPC 1 TD) /RB Darren Sproles PHI (Week 3 – 6/128 rec 1 TD) Ryan Mathews was limited in week 3 because of an ankle injury, which is not believed to be serious at this point, but it’s worth monitoring. in week 3. If he’s going to miss time then Smallwood is a must add in non PPR, and Sproles is a must add in PPR. Fantasy Potential: Speculation pick/Stash

RB John Kuhn NOS (3/5 yards 2 TDs / 2/7 rec 1 TD) If you are a Mark Ingram owner, you were probably clenching your teeth all afternoon after Kuhn vultured 3 TDs in the Red Zone this week. Kuhn has a long history of “cheapie TDs” and with his success in week 4, it’s likely that they’ll continue to utilize him near the goal line…to the chagrin of Ingram owners. A consideration in very deep leagues during the bye week period. Fantasy Potential: D+

RB Fozzy Whittaker CAR (3/6 rush 9/86 receiving) Artis-Payne has been getting more of the touches, but it’s Whittaker that has been seeing the backfield receptions. This week, it was clearly the plan as he caught 9 passes for 86 yards. This could be something that carries forward after Stewart returns, we’ll just have to see how it plays out. Fantasy Potential: Speculation pick in PPR leagues

WR Quincy Enunwa NYJ (6/60 rec 7 targets) Targeted like a top 25 receiver before the Decker injury, no reason to expect that to decrease now that Decker is out for an undetermined period of time. Has both the physical presence and elusiveness to be considered a top 30 while Decker is out. Fantasy Potential: B-

WR Steve Smith BAL (8/111 yards 11 targets) Week 4 Recommendation As we discussed last week, Smith tends to perform in cycles, and this appears to be one of those streaks. Fantasy Potential: C+

WR Sammy Coates PIT (6/79 yards 8 targets) Coates has big play ability and after a disastrous preseason, it seems that he’s regaining some of his QBs confidence. The results may be spotty, but there is a lot of upside based on his ability. Fantasy Potential: C+

WR Robert Woods BUF (7/89 rec 10 targets) With Sammy Watkins gone for most of the season, Robert Woods inherits the #1 receiver role. He’s a decent receiver with good burst, and will be force feed targets as the Bills don’t have many other options. Fantasy Potential: C/C-

WR Dontrelle Inman SD (7/120 1 TD 11 targets) With Tyrell Williams hobbling at points during the game, Inman stepped up for a depleted receiving group and posted a big game. Inman has shown bursts of brilliance in the past, but has also shown inconsistency. More of a consideration in deeper leagues. Fantasy Potential: C-

WR Jeremy Kerley SF (6/88 yards 1 TD) Kerley has seen 32 targets so far this season, which is top 30. With Torrey Smith drawing most of the coverage, Kerley has value in deeper leagues. Fantasy Potential: C-

WR Eddie Royal CHI (7/111 rec 1 TD 7 targets) Keep an eye on the Kevin White ankle injury this week, as Royal may be in line for a continuation of targets in week 5. If you’ve been playing fantasy football for a while then you know that Royal has a tendency to perform at a high level and then disappear at other times. Ride him while he’s hot, but he’s more of a consideration in deeper leagues. Fantasy Potential: C-

WR Anquan Boldin DET (6/31 yards 8 targets) Golden Tate lost his #1 designation when the season opened, and during week 4 he was pulled in favor of Boldin and Roberts. Boldin is the guy with Red Zone value. Fantasy Potential: C-

TE Hunter Henry SD (4/61 yards 1 TD 7 targets)  Week 4 Recommendation Henry continues to forge himself as the Antonio Gates replacement in SD. As we mentioned last week, even after Gates returns we expect to see plenty of Henry in passing situations, as the Chargers have a very depleted group of receivers. Fantasy Potential as a starter: B-

TE Zach Miller CHI (3/31 yards 1 TDs 3 targets) Week 4 Recommendation Miller made the best of the three targets he received this week, and scored his 3rd TD in two weeks. Fantasy Potential: B-

TE Cameron Brate TB (5/67 yards 8 targets) The Bucs discarded ASJ last week, and Brate has stepped right up with 10 receptions off of 18 targets. He’s a Red Zone threat, and a flex consideration in bye week situations.Fantasy Potential: C/C-
