2016 Value Picks to beware of in your Draft
This is how you win your league, plain and simple. You don’t win it with your first overall pick — my dog can pick a good player in the first round! You win your league by grabbing the hidden gems in each round as the player pool thins out. You go against the grain, you grab the receiver who should’ve been picked up two rounds ago and the QB everyone else passed on — remember Carson Palmer last year? Enough chit chat, let’s dig in.
Lamar Miller
Miller could be the best value pick out there this year. Miller has been decent in Miami but never given a chance to shine. That’s about to change in Houston. For years Arian Foster has been the star of the show, but Lamar Miller is about to take over. He’s posted the best YPC of any back the last two years and has a shot to take over the league.
Derek Carr
David Carr only dreamed of being this good. Or playing on a team this good! Derek Carr is primed and ready to compete with Phil Rivers as the best QB in the wild AFC West. He’s got talent, a little experience and some great targets to throw it to. Don’t look now, but the Raiders have built themselves a solid squad. While other owners are chasing names, sit on QB a couple more rounds and outscore them all with Carr.
Giovani Bernard
This little Bengal had a rough season in 2015 as both he and Jeremy Hill disappointed owners all year long. But I wouldn’t bet on it happening again. Bernard is currently being drafted around 80th overall and that’s just too late for a guy with his talent. He’s proven that he can get things done in the NFL and I wouldn’t bet against him in 2016. While other owners are waiting on Gio, don’t be afraid to snap him up in the 6th or 7th round.
Mike Evans
Remember him? Breakout 2014 followed by a dismal 2015 when everyone thought he would team up with Captain Crablegs (Jameis Winston) to take over the league. I guess people are still feeling the pain because Evans isn’t being drafted as a top 10 receiver like he should be. Don’t take him number one overall, but don’t be afraid to get him in that second round, either. Look for him to get back on track in 2016 with a big year.
